and have NEVER had to give someone my credit card first. ![]() I've eaten in the finest restaurants in NY, SF, etc. AND they'd made me give them a credit card BEFORE they took my reservation. I thought these people are OPEN! I said, "you sure sound like you're open to me" and then they hung up on me!! I can only imagine they'd overbooked and had chosen to bump some of us by fabricating something. I called and first heard the crowd noise of people in the background, people eating, drinking and talking - it was quite a din. But we couldn't, at least not online like you can with any other restaurant that uses OpenTable. Well, I got on OpenTable and tried to see what was available, but because Artisanal did not actually clear the reservation on their side, OpenTable would not let us even check availability until we canceled our Artisanal reservation. They did not offer to book us for another evening and they did not offer us ANY consideration for ruining our evening (where do you get reservations in a small resort area at 6p?). It happens, not even necessarily their fault. ![]() At 5.40p, on our way out the door (it was a 40-minute drive), we received a call from the restaurant, letting us know that due to electrical failures and water damage they were going to have to cancel the evening, for all diners. ![]() We made a reservation to eat there 3 weeks before our trip to the area, for 6.30 on a Wednesday evening. Despite not eating there, we do have enough information to write a review.
